My work is a wonky celebration of the world around me.
It is inspired by nature, music, poetry, human experiences and feelings, and overall: dead sunflowers.
I paint what is around me, what is felt and what is inbetween. Nature and its organic shapes meet bold colours, shapes and colours dance with each other until they dissolve entirely into organic formations. It's playful, but can be melancholic at the same time, it’s a battle between elements and a battle between the abstract and the figurative, as it alludes to things that lead nowhere.
As I am frequently returning to, and adding to, my personal archive of shapes, motifs like dead sunflowers are recurring in my practice constantly, in various different forms. They accompany me and my work, and so they change as well.
It is an ever changing collage.
